Nissan appoints Diana Torres as new managing director of Importers Business Unit in Latin America


Nissan Mexicana appoints Diana Torres as managing director of the Nissan Importers Business Unit (NIBU),which was created in 2018 with the aim of boosting the brand's growth in Latin America.

As of September 1st of this year, Diana Torres will work hand in hand with the importing partners in 34 countries of the region1, and with a team of experts focused 100% on the needs of local customers. In this way Nissan continues to consolidate its presence in the region and ensure the presence of its high quality standards in all areas: product, customer service and after-sales service.

Who is Diana Torres?

Diana currently holds the position of Senior Director of Finance at Nissan Mexicana. She holds a degree in Finance from the Externado de Colombia University and a master's degree with distinction in Business Administration (MBA) from the London Business School.

Diana brings to her new role valuable experience in the aviation and banking industries, mainly in Latin America and Europe, as well as nine years of experience within Nissan,where she has held different roles in the Financial and Strategy areas in Europe, the Americas and Japan.

Diana, will report directly to José Román president and managing director of Nissan Mexicana and NIBU.

In recent years, Nissan has strengthened its Diversity and Inclusion strategy, which has led to a significant increase in the percentage of women working at Nissan Mexicana,particularly in management positions. Thanks to this, from 2019 to 2020, a 12% increase in the participation of women in executive positions was achieved.

Meanwhile, as of October 1st of this year, Ricardo Rodríguez, current managing director of NIBU will assume the managing role of INFINITI for the markets of Mexico, Latin America and Israel.
