On 6/8/2020, the Board of Directors of TOM TAILOR Holding SE applied for Insolvency Proceedings with the Court in Hamburg. The Company's subsidiary, Bonita GmbH, applied for Protective Shield Proceedings under Self Administration. Tom Tailor GmbH remains unaffected by the Insolvency / Protective Shield Proceedings and will continue to operate as before.
This company is no longer actively traded on any major stock exchange.

Insolvent German fashion firm Bonita to be rescued in MBO deal


March 16 (SeeNews) - Karsten Oberheide, chief of Bonita GmbH, and a group of investors will take over the insolvent German women's clothing company in a management buyout deal after a court in Hamburg approved the restructuring plan for the company on Monday.

The court approval was the last hurdle to Bonita's rescue after creditors gave the green light for the deal in February.

Oberheide will remain at the helm of the company after the end of the insolvency proceedings.

Bonita, founded in 1969, was a subsidiary of German fashion company Tom Tailor which tried to restructure and sell it due to its poor performance. A sale to Dutch company Victory & Dreams International Holding BV fell through in 2019.

Tom Tailor filed for insolvency at the beginning of June 2020 because of its debts and the financial troubles of Bonita and was later sold to Chinese conglomerate Fosun International while Bonita filed for insolvency in self-administration.

Bonita now has about 500 points of sales in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands after some 200 units have been closed since last summer. Under its new strategy, the fashion company will target women over 50 years old.
