Awal Bank BSCC (AB), a member of Saad Investment Company, is a Bahrain-based wholesale bank engaged in offering a range of commercial and Islamic banking services to the Gulf, the Middle East and North Africa. The Bank offers its services through various divisions, which include Equity, Financial Institutions, Corporate Banking and Treasury. The Equity division offers investments mainly in natural resources, technology, healthcare, and land development. Its Financial Institutions division consists of two units: one is responsible for all conventional financial institutions, and the other covers Islamic financial institutions. Its Corporate Banking division provides conventional and Islamic products for corporate customers including term loans and revolving credit. The Treasury division is responsible for the Bank’s liquidity, interest rate, foreign exchange and risk management as well as trading with Islamic financial institutions in Commodity Murabaha transactions.
