On April 21, 2017, the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and management of the Company concluded that the consolidated financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2015, as well as each of the interim periods within 2016 and 2015 require restatement and should no longer be relied upon. The Company expects to record a material valuation allowance with respect to its deferred tax asset but has not completed its processes to determine the valuation allowance for certain loans, tax credit entities or low-income housing projects.
On April 28, 2017, First NBC Bank, New Orleans, LA, the subsidiary bank of First NBC Bank Holding Company, was closed by the Louisiana Office of Financial Institutions, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was named Receiver. All transactional deposit accounts (checking, savings, NOW, and money market)were transferred to Whitney Bank, Gulfport, MS. Whitney Bank reopened all 29 branches of First NBC Bank as Whitney Bank in Louisiana (24 branches) and as Hancock Bank In Florida (5 branches).
