On February 13, 2015, Capitol City Bank & Trust Company, Atlanta, GA, the subsidiary bank of Capitol City Bancshares Inc., was closed by the Georgia Department of Banking & Finance, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was named Receiver. All deposit accounts, including brokered deposits, were transferred to First-Citizens Bank & Trust Company, Raleigh, NC. The former Capitol City Bank & Trust Company locations reopened as branches of First-Citizens Bank & Trust Company.
