Summit Purbanchol Power Company Limited is engaged in setting up power plants for generation and supply of electricity. The Company is a conglomerate of Bangladesh, which consists of approximately twenty business units ranging from power to shipping to communications. The Company operates approximately two power plant projects of over 30 megawatts (MW) capacity each at Rupganj, Narayanganj and Jangalia, Comilla. The Company also owns approximately 20% of Summit Narayanganj Power Limited, which is another prospective power project of the. The Company is a subsidiary of Summit Power Limited. The Company has contracts with Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and Rural Electrification Board (REB) under Power Purchase Agreements dated for supply of electricity to National Grid for approximately 15 years subject to extension of the term of contract on the basis of mutual agreement.
