On October 21, 2011, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was appointed receiver for Community Banks of Colorado, Greenwood Village, CO, a subsidiary bank of Community Bankshares, Inc., by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. All deposit accounts, excluding the Cede & Co. deposits, were transferred to Bank Midwest, National Association (N.A.), Kansas City, MO. The former Community Banks of Colorado locations reopened as branches of Bank Midwest, N.A.
