Greene County Bancorp, Inc. is the holding company for Bank of Greene (the Bank), and its subsidiary Greene County Commercial Bank. The Bank is a provider of community-based banking services throughout the Hudson Valley and Capital Region of New York State. The Bank's customers include individuals, businesses, municipalities and other institutions. The Bank's principal business consists of retail, commercial and municipal deposits from the general public in the areas surrounding its branches and investing those deposits, together with funds generated from operations and borrowings, primarily in residential mortgage loans, commercial real estate mortgage loans, consumer loans, home equity loans and commercial business loans. In addition, the Bank invests a significant portion of its assets in state and political subdivision securities and mortgage-backed securities. Greene County Commercial Bank is a New York State-chartered limited purpose commercial bank.
