The Company is engaged primarily in the exploration and development of oil and gas properties in the States of Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Kentucky and Wyoming. As of March 31, 2008, the Company owned natural gas and oil leasehold interests in approximately 8,600 gross acres, approximately 80% of which are undeveloped. In addition, Platina owned working interests in 73 gross net wells. As of March 31, 2008, it had estimated net proved reserves of 2.9 million barrels (bbls) of oil and 21.6 thousand million cubic feet (MMCF) of natural gas. On March 31, 2008, the Company acquired Enhanced Oil Recovery, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of UTEK Corporation. On January 10, 2008, it formed Wildcat Energy Corp. In December 2008, the Company and its units, Wildcat Energy Corp. and Appalachian Energy Corp., filed voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy petitions in Texas.
